Starting prenatal care
Your first visit is usually scheduled eight weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period. At this visit, we do a thorough review of your health history, and perform a physical exam. We first perform a vaginal ultrasound to confirm gestational age, then present you with an orientation to our obstetrical practice, where we provide information about different available genetic tests.
Routine prenatal visits
Routine prenatal visits will include weight, blood pressure and urine testing, as well as listening to fetal heart tones. Sometimes, we will need to do blood tests or screenings.
